After dating for five years and nine months, Mike proposed to Courtney on the beach of Antigua, under the moonlight and with no one around. It was sweet, romantic, and, as Courtney said, “perfect.” Their fairy-tale wedding was every bit as enchanting as their engagement story. The venue, Dover Hall Estate, located in Manakin-Sabot, VA (near Richmond), felt like a castle and definitely fit the bride’s desire to have an “elegant, but simple” wedding day. The color scheme (dark teal, gray, and white) was absolutely beautiful. From beginning to end, I was in heaven, photographing each gorgeous detail – hand painted ring boxes, winding staircases, arched windows and doorways, lovely orange and yellow blooms, teal bridesmaid dresses, a breath-taking reception hall, an incredible, live band, the Gelato that substituted for traditional cake, the sparkler farewell, and more!
That being said, what made this day really special was being able to capture the love shared between Courtney and Mike, along with the care and support shown by their friends and family. Working with Courtney and Mike was the BEST; they are both incredibly sweet, down-to-earth, and brilliant. The admiration they have for each other is profound. In fact, before the wedding, Courtney mentioned that she was first drawn to Mike because he was “ambitious, intelligent, and had his stuff together at the age of 23.” She said she even found him attractive with the goatee that (thankfully) he shaved off between their first and second date (her words!). Despite their young age, the two of them have already accomplished so much – just ask Courtney’s dad! During his toast to the couple, Courtney’s dad, AB English, had to brag on Mike and Courtney’s many successes, including Courtney being the valedictorian of her senior class – impressive, right!? It was one of the sweetest toasts I have ever heard. I can’t explain how thankful I was to work with such an amazing couple and their family. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Lynch – I wish you both happiness in your futures together 🙂
Enjoy the images from their beautiful day!
