When this pretty mama-to-be reached out to me saying she wanted to do a waterside maternity session, I went on a hunt. After lots of research and driving around, I came across a beautiful marina near Lake Anna. While rain was originally predicted the night of our session, the forecast changed to sunny skies.
We thought we were in the clear until out of nowhere the skies went black and we were forced to take shelter in our vehicles, watching wind whip across the water, rain pour, and even spotting a baby cyclone. Thankfully, the skies cleared after 20-30 minutes and we resumed photos right as golden hour hit. While “take cover” is never something you want to yell during a photo session, the clouds and storm created the most intensely beautiful light. Scroll down to see more of why this is a new favorite maternity session.
